Macro Invertebrate Data (Glen Miller) Mr. Miller has put together a report of all the data that WCRC has collected since they have been operating. Macro Invertebrate will need to be re-sampled again in the Fall 2001. The TAC decided to do 20 sample sites in late May or June.  The committee discussed the task of designing a sample analysis plan to screen and assess waste rock piles and dumps.  Larry Bussey made the motion to give this task to the TAC committee.  JB Alexander Seconded.  Motion Carried.

Wetlands (Mike Wireman) Mr Wireman expressed thanks to Jim Herron and Bob Kirkham for doing a good job on the cells.   There have been Internal meetings with the EPA as a result of work that Carol Campbell has been doing to figure out ways to get around Point Source Issues at the Solomon.  Mr. Wireman outlined several possible scenarios with pros and cons for each.  There are several things in the works that will make a difference as to how we are able to handle portal discharge at the Solomon. The committee will continue to investigate alternatives and hope for favorable outcomes pending legislation.  The addition of the “Good Samaritan” amendment to the Clean Water Act, would open the door for a lot of possible remedies.   In the meantime we will continue to explore source management.  For more information see report by Mr. Wireman

Miscellaneous business-(Zeke Ward) This year’s work plan: WCRC needs a commitment from involved entities for this year’s work plan.  Requests for participation will be sent to all involved. RC&D Banquet (Chuck Barnes)- Zeke Ward represented WCRC at the banquet and did a great job.
