Approval of Minutes (Glen Miller):
August
minutes read by Glen. Approved for posting on
the web. JB Alexander made the motion to
accept the minutes as read. Bob Kirkham seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Forest Service information about possible East Willow Park
(Les Dobson & JB Alexander): TAC proposed a plan for an interpretive park on East
Willow as a way to show the public about what WCRC does.
The forest Service feels this is a viable idea and the committee gave
approval to pursue this plan.
Data Analysis Report: (Mike Wireman) Mr. Wireman
directed his intern to put together a report to compare EPA data and WCRC data. His intern is now preparing a data analysis base
to keep incoming data organized.
At the next meeting Zeke Ward would like to discuss the 3 year
report that will be due next summer.
TAC committee report ( Glen Miller - JB Alexander) The
TAC advised the WCRC committee to investigate all water inflows into the Commodore/Nelson
mine workings from all potential sources. These
tests will cost in the area of $20,000. The
TAC also asks WCRC to authorize the TAC to design a plan to investigate inflow sources.
Erik Sandvik made the motion to approve investigating the
Commodore/Nelson inflows. Steve Russell
seconded. Motion passed.
The WCRC committee gave the TAC approval to design a plan for
testing inflow sources.
August Underground characterization report (Mike Wireman):
the group went underground on August 15, 2001. The
underground Characterization is going well. Jim
Heron and John Nelson are working on compiling a list of safety issues that need to be
resolved to insure the safety of those persons working underground. They are preparing to hire someone to do the work
soon.
Zeke is working on getting a railroad car to use as a bridge
across Willow Creek to make access to the Nelson easier.
Commodore to East/West Confluence to City flume potential
flood study. (Brian Hyde-Zeke Ward-Joe
Davis): Mr. Hyde passed out a scope of work from the Colorado Water Conservation
District for the improvement of Willow Creek
above the flume.
There will be a bid meeting for interested parties on September
28, 2001.
Well drilling and waste pile sampling schedules and general
information (Glen Miller): Waste pile sampling training will be held September 13,
2001.
Re-Veg Project: (JB Alexander)Some grass is started in
the bare areas where there were cows. Some of
the trees are looking a little sick. Pictures
of the project are available in the WCRC office.
